Globetrotting the Atmosphere
'The 5 best places to skydive around the world'
Lucy Higgins | 16 June 2016

With summer coming ever closer, I am sure many of you will be off all around the world to some amazing places. Those who are more adventurous may go and get a secret dolphin tattoo to be hidden from parents forever more, or maybe climb to the top of a mountain, but what could be better than soaring over the peak of one? In case you were wanting to have a go yourself at this extreme and exhilarating sport (and we do not mean skydiving on the Wii!), we have compiled a list of the 5 best places to skydive around the world.

1 Jumeirah, Dubai

Jumping out of a plane is surely scary enough, but jumping out over the sea may make your stomach churn a little more. Skydiving in Jumeirah means you can see the breath-taking man made palm trees stretching out from the mainland into the sea as you rocket through the clear blue skies. As skydiving is often weather dependent, you can be sure that you would be more than likely to jump on the day you booked. If you are a seasoned skydiver, there is the opportunity to take part in the Annual Dubai Fitness Fest which includes dives as well as a variety of events in Dubai Marina.

2 Waikiki, Hawaii

Hawaii is one of the most popular and world-renowned skydiving spots. With amazing views across the entire island, Hawaii is not only a hit with surfers, but also for those wishing to take on various aerial endeavours too. If you want to show your bravery, skydiving close to the hugely popular and famous Waikiki beach would be perfect. The calm winds and hot sun would surely be any skydiver’s dream.

3 Interlaken, Switzerland

Embedded between two picturesque lakes, surrounded by glacial valleys and set against the Alps mountain range, the appropriately named ‘Interlaken’ is possibly one of the most beautiful places to skydive imaginable. With amazing views of the hundreds of waterfalls and streams, it is not too far for us in the UK to travel to. The small Swiss town is a must visit for any keen skydiver.

4 Le Marche, Italy

Italy is a stunning country with rolling hills and charming villages, famous for its cuisine. But if you have seen it from the ground, why not see it from the air as well? Le Marche is a beautiful coastal area panning onto the Adriatic Sea and has made it onto many lists of the Top 5 skydiving destinations in Europe.

5 Airkix Indoor Skydiving, Milton Keynes

For those of us with too little money, and too much homework, to travel all the way to the aforementioned locations, Milton Keynes offers its very own indoor skydiving experience. The first of its kind in the UK, Airkix offers winds of up to 165mph, perfect for beginners and even for professionals perfecting their technique. So if you want to experience the thrill of jumping out of a plane without breaking the bank, this would be ideal for you.
